Your Money, Your Planet. Urban Roots are running this six week course again in our church, starting on 7 February. Each week looks at different aspects of sustainable ‘climate friendly’ living covering food, energy, transport and waste. They only have a couple of spaces left, so if you’re interested, sign up soon.

SHROVE TUESDAY - 21ST FEBRUARY Make it a Fairtrade Shrove Tuesday
Think Fairtrade when buying your pancake ingredients. Go for the classic recipe by using Fairtrade lemons and sugar or be adventurous and try a tasty Fairtrade chocolate and banana filling. Remember all those farmers and producers who are struggling to make ends meet.

FAIRTRADE FORTNIGHT - 27TH FEBRUARY - 11TH MARCH




Youth Connexion 24hr Fast and Annual Quiz this year will be Saturday 25th Feb at 6pm till 6pm on Sunday 26th and funds raised will be split between The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice and Dementia Scotland. Please sponsor us anything you can. You can sponsor an individual or a few! or as a group.

...and as usual the Annual Quiz will be held on the Sunday evening starting at 7pm. Entry is £7 a team. Please add your team to the list! Thanks again to everyone for your continued Support.




WWF EARTH HOUR Switch off your lights at 8.30pm on Saturday 31st March. WWF’s Earth Hour is a simple idea that’s quickly turned into a global phenomenon. Langside Golf Society. Anyone interested in attending our annual outing to Moffat Golf Club should add their name to the list on the Notice Board no later than Sunday 26th February. It is hoped to hold the outing on Saturday 7th July, 2012. The cost of the outing will be £43 (18 holes, Lunch and Dinner). Anyone interested but seeking more details should speak to Stewart Moffat.




Sons of Thunder Association. The Annual General Meeting of the association will take place in Langside Parish Church on Sunday 16th March at 7.30pm. Anyone interested in the work of Sons of Thunder is welcome to attend.




Battlefield Primary School is 100 years old in 2012. The Parent Council is setting up a Committee to lead on the celebrations . As part of this they are looking for memories, stories and photos from any past pupils of the school, no matter how young or old.
